An Athens apartment a walk from Lycabettus Hill.
Lycabettus is the high point of Athens — the place locals climb at dusk for the best view over the Acropolis and the whole city. The Vamelon apartments sit in Panormou, about twenty minutes' walk from the hill, in a calm residential pocket that's still on the metro and minutes from the centre.
The hill
Climb Lycabettus just before sunset, sit on the white wall facing the Acropolis, and stay until the lights come on — it's the view every guest remembers. From Panormou it's an easy walk up through the neighbourhood, or a short hop if you'd rather take the funicular from the Kolonaki side.
Where you'd be
Panormou is residential and quiet, with cafés, family tavernas and a street market at the door, and upscale Kolonaki between you and the hill. You get the calm of a real neighbourhood with Lycabettus, the metro and the centre all within reach on foot or two stops away.
Getting around
Panormou station (M3, blue line) is three minutes from the door: about twelve minutes and two stops to the Acropolis, straight into Syntagma and Monastiraki, and a direct, change-free ride to the airport. There's free parking too if you're driving.
Where you'd stay
Three apartments in the same Panormou building, a walk from Lycabettus — book direct with the hosts.
