Staying for treatment

An Athens apartment near the hospitals.

Not every trip to Athens is a holiday. If you're here because someone you love is in treatment — or because you are — you need somewhere close, quiet and self-sufficient, for a week or a month rather than a weekend. Panormou sits in the middle of the Mesogeion hospital belt, which puts most of the city's major hospitals within a walk or one metro stop of the door.

All three apartments are at Portarias 4 in Panormou, a residential block between Leoforos Alexandras and Mesogeion — the avenue most of the big Athens hospitals sit on. Times from the door, on foot and by car:

Why an apartment beats a hotel for this

Hospital stays run long and to somebody else's schedule. A kitchen means you eat properly at 22:00 instead of living on canteen food. A washing machine and dryer in the apartment means you pack for three days and stay three weeks. A separate bedroom means one person can sleep while the other sits up. And a residential street means you actually rest between visits — Panormou is quiet after dark in a way the centre never is.

Arriving at an odd hour

Check-in is by lockbox, so there's no reception desk to reach and no one to wait for — we send the code and the full instructions the morning you arrive, and you let yourself in whenever you get here. The building has a lift, the street is flat, and we can hold luggage if you need to go straight to the hospital before the apartment is ready. If your dates move because treatment moves, message us — we'd rather shift a booking than have you lose it.

If you're driving in each day

Parking near the Mesogeion hospitals is genuinely hard and mostly paid. The P7 penthouse has two private carport spaces and the P5 family apartment has one, with free on-street parking on the block for P6 — so you park once at the apartment rather than circling before every visit. Longer stays

Most people booking for a hospital stay don't know their end date yet. Book the nights you're sure of and contact us about extending — we hold what we can, and for stays over a week it's worth asking for a rate rather than booking through a platform. Cleaning mid-stay is available if you're here a while. Get in touch and tell us the situation.

Where you'd stay

Three apartments in one quiet Panormou building, minutes from the Mesogeion hospitals. Book direct with the hosts — and talk to us if your dates are uncertain.
